Hi everyone! It's the middle of summer, and if you're anything like us, you're frantically searching for projects to distract your kids or keep you out of the heat! Well, this project is super easy, almost too easy to call a project, but it's fun and quick and we can't wait to share it with you!
The great thing about DIY sugar flavors is that there are about a million different ingredients you can use to make each jar unique and exciting. P.S. They also make great gifts if you make a few different types and put them in a great decorative container!
Here is what you need to get started:
- 1 Vanilla Bean Pod
- 1 Cup of Sugar
- 1 Air-tight Container
With tip of paring knife, cut 1 vanilla pod in half lengthwise. Using side of knife, scrape out all of the seeds (try not to leave any behind!).
Next, bury the halves of the vanilla bean into the sugar and stir them around with your hands. Don't afraid to get a little messy! The more you stir and massage the two together, the more the sugar will taste like the vanilla bean!
Lastly, transfer to airtight 8-ounce container, along with scraped vanilla pod halves. Keep at room temperature up to 6 months and enjoy!
